I met with the owner to discuss my monthly condo cleaning needs.
The initial clean planned was a deep clean first time clean that he described included baseboards ..top of my cupboards,floors steamed..I have mostly tile.I emphasized bathrooms,tubs,showers and toilets and sinks all very important to me..countertops,stovetop and microwave..glass patio door and the balcony tile foor. I was assured it would be memorable.The cost for the first clean $232,50 and subsequent at $197.63.
I have 2 bedrooms and an office..and 2 full baths and a half.
The very pleasant team of cheery energetic staff arrived right on time..3 girls and a supervisor. Since I work at home I said to do my office last..knock on my door aand I would step out for the cleaning.
The girls were here 1 hr and 15 minutes and literally ran out the front door leaving the "lead " person to collect the check. I said "..but you haven't even cleaned ny office yet.." and she said "I know..sorry but we have to go..we had 1 hour 15 minutes for this and that was it,,they've already gone..we'll catch it up next time."
During the course of the cleaning my son (visiting ) pulled out a small ladder so they could dust the ceiling fans they couldn't reach..and helped one girl sent alone to the guest room ..pull the sheet cornors over the mattress..difficult to do alone. The floors may have been steamed but I believe the equipment is in poor working order because the deep clean promised was cursory at best..the floors looked no cleaner than before they were been done.The counters felt griity when I ran my hand across them and there were still pieces of this and that on the bedroom carpets confirming a vacumn with poor suction.
The condo is nice size..but not in any way large..about 1680 to 1700 sq ft and a long hall leading straight out to living room/dining area and enclosed balcony.
I absolutely could NOT believe that they did not even finish a job I expected would take at LEAST a couple hours for the promised "first time deep clean" that we absolutely did NOT get.
I paid the $232.50 because I was sure ..as anxious as the girls seemed to race out of here..they would be docked for it if I refused.
As for a next time or ANY possibility of a fix or a do over..NOT on a BET.
This was a cursory clean at best..something I could do myself.Nothing deeper or custom about it. I have been used to a different service..counters that sparkled and the scent of Fabuloso lavender the final touch from a team no longer near enough to still do my cleaning.
I doubt there will be any concern by "Youve Got Maids " in Port Charlotte since they never even called for my new customer feedback on the job.
I am sure they didn't call..because their empty promises are likely nothing out of the ordinary. I expect I am not the first or last disappointed customer.

Happy with our decision
We are new to the area and I shopped around a bit for a good cleaning service. I have had good and bad experiences in the past.
We connected with You've Got Maids in Mt Pleasant. I spoke to Blake and he visited our home. I found him to be very sincere and we decided to give them a try. They were not the cheapest but I felt they were the best.
Then before they arrived I did some research and noticed the information on this site. It gave me pause, but I found other reviews that were very positive, so I called Blake. I was actually more impressed after we talked. Blake explained each situation, what he did to try to make it right, and the steps he has taken to correct things.
We have had 3 cleanings so far and the ladies are very good and very sweet. We are pleased that we choose Blake and You've Got Maids.
After reading this site and our good experience, I felt obligated to share our experience. Thank you

Working for youve got maids
I worked at you've got maids for 7 or 8 days, and it was unreal how you were treated and they allow you to clock in for your shift but you are not allowed to clock out at end of shift, no proof you worked when you worked. Then you don't get paid for loading and unloading equipment for total time you do this, and only get $6.00 hour doing this.
Then you have to sit in their car and wait for 2 hours to go to another clients house to clean. I think this is wrong and someone needs to fix this problem. that is slave work, I am very angry and I will be looking into something being done on this, the clients don't know they are hiring you've got maids and the employees are treated this way they pay good money to get the house cleaned i seen what some pay and look what the employee makes.
??????????????????????????? this is wrong, Please if you are looking for a cleaning company don't go with you've got maids, please speak with some of the employees that work for the company and see what kind of turn over they have for the employees, if it is a high turn over meaning something is wrong why can't they keep employees.
You've Got Maids-Stole $20,000 worth of jewelry
I have experienced all kinds of problems with the You've Got Maids in Charleston, SC, franchise owner Blake Hawkey. Received services from company for several months.
Owner would never establish cleaning day or give notice as to when staff would arrive. Always a surprise visit. During one cleaning in the summer of 2015 approximately $20,000 of jewelry was stolen. Owner acknowledges responsibility, but has not paid claim or returned house key.
It has now been several months.
I've had to pursue legal action. While owner contends he is bonded and insured, he simultaneously proclaims he cannot afford to pay claim.

Mike the owner was very nice and refunded the 1/2 payment. Their customer service is excellent.
I felt I was treated fairly all round. They did offer to re-clean but I was not able to find a time sutable for the both of us.

Update: Since this review was written, Blake reached out to me, apologized and gave me a full refund. I appreciate the fact that he did step up and do the right thing. I now would feel perfectly comfortable using Blake and his team again.
Oh, and they were only at my house for two hours which is NOT A DEEP CLEAN.
TO BE CLEAR: Blake NEVER gave me ANY discount, that is a lie. what he did do was charge me three times the price he quoted.
When the maids came and left the first time and SAW THE INSIDE OF THE HOUSE, why didn't Blake call me and revise the price? Why would the maids assume the needles were for illegal drug use? (I do have documentation about my late dogs diabetes and prescribed insulin). and why were they looking in my drawers?
Where does Blake get off assuming the needles were used illegally and charging me more for that? Ridiculous.
I had used this company myself for several months. I never knew when they were coming.
As a result, they caught me in a night gown more than once. They was also a situation where I had all the Christmas presents out and was in the middle of wrapping them all. The owner, Blake, is highly disorganized which is why a set day of the month was never established. I also had a problem with the staff stealing.
It amounted to several thousands of dollars. His staff were the only possible suspects, yet I was never paid by his company.
We handled this situation in a forthright way, however, there was verbal miscommunication between parties. I don't agree with several parts of the complaint, but that isn't the point.
I do wish we had handled this situation better and we've learned several lessons. First, I took the job sight unseen and at the last minute to help the client. We have learned to always visit the home before we quote and to allocate the required time rather than try to squeeze it in to help someone. We also learned to always use a written service agreement that covers every issue that may arise.
Our 'miscommunication' issues have dropped to almost zero now. This also has resolved any billing issues we had in the past because we outline all charges in the service agreement before we begin. Now, we absolutely follow our written service agreement and do not perform any additional work without the client's express approval.
In the end, the client was satisfied with the quality cleaning we performed. The job turned out to be much larger than expected.
We performed a detailed deep cleaning on a big house that needed a lot of attention. We actually discounted the final bill due to all the scheduling issues which were my fault.
I did receive the report from my team about the drug paraganglia. Due to this, I was unwilling to adjust our bill any further. It is not right for a client to expose my team to an illegal situation.
When I initially mentioned this as my reason for not crediting her card, she made no mention of diabetes. I intend to follow up with her on that issue and I will update this comment if anything changes.
